Connie Treen trained in Edmonton at the University of Alberta, receiving a BFA. She painted sporadically over the years, fitting it in with family and business activities.

Moving to Denman Island in 2003 allowed her to really focus on art. The peaceful, natural surroundings provided a wellspring of potential subject matter. During her time on Denman, Connie exhibited regularly and participated in Annual Studio Tours. She remembers fondly being a part of the Denman Island Watermedia “Group of Several.” She also enjoyed her time with Arts Denman, especially while chairing the Summer Art Gallery. After moving to Courtenay in 2014, she turned to the Pearl Ellis Gallery as an exhibitor and volunteer. And now, Connie is delighted to be a member of the Art Group of the Comox Valley.

Connie works primarily in acrylic on canvas. She hopes her art reflects her passion for beauty and colour. Her aim is to depict “the good.” So whenever someone comments, “I like these paintings …. I don’t quite understand why, but they make me feel good!” she is very pleased.

Connie’s art can be found in private and corporate collections. She is happy to talk about sales or rentals (you can try out a painting to see if it suits you). She also accepts commission projects for example, house and garden paintings or watercolour portraits (especially children).
