Art Group of the Comox Valley
Gaylia has been involved in fine arts for almost 40 years and has had an exciting life discovering many hidden places to paint on this beautiful island while on family camping trips.
Her credits inlude the creation of two large wall murals for the Kaatza Museum and a private mural commission for Mr. Tony Green, all at Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island. Taking months to complete, the murals depict images of Island logging history – past and present – in fine detail. As well, her drawings of Island historical sites have appeared bi-weekly, for many years, in the Comox Valley Record and Duncan Pictorial newspapers.
Gaylia has worked with many different mediums and now prefers acrylics. She exhibits with the Art Group of the Comox Valley and other outlets, but no longer take commissions. Years of private and commercial commissions, along with one woman and group exhibits, have made her career very prolific and rewarding.
