Lynn is a surface design and textile artist. Her art quilts are not meant to sleep under. They’re not about getting into quilt shows. They are about giving life meaning. In her imagery, she often starts with a concept, finds something she wants to explain and understand, then sets parameters around that. Cloth and thread are her medium. Within each genuine and authentic art quilt, she incorporates recycled textiles, hand painted and dyed fabrics. It is the textural fabric and fibre she incorporates which often give viewers an entry point to her work.

Born in Comox, raised in Campbell River and Greater Vancouver, Lynn recently retired from a 34 year teaching career and relocated to the Comox Valley in December 2012.

Educated at UBC in Art Education, and SFU (Diverse Learners - Visual Arts), Lynn maintained a full schedule of teaching art and parenting for over three decades, always having to steal time for herself to make art. Retirement has been a gift, allowing her time to draw, stitch, and explore a variety of surface designs on fabric including Shibori resist dying, Thermofax screen printing, gelatin plates, block prints, dyes and inks.
