Marlet Ashley
Marlet Ashley was born in Windsor, Ontario where her interest in art began when she landed a job as a weekly Arts and Crafts columnist for the Windsor Star. After writing a story on the Essex County Potters’ Guild, her interest in pottery grew, and she became a potter herself, winning awards and selling in local shops and art shows. Her sales from pottery paid for her tuition to university where she studied and later taught psychology and then did graduate work in English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor. After moving to Vancouver, she secured tenure as an English instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University for over 15 years.

Marlet Ashley is the author of a series of children’s books under the collective title Revelry on the Estuary as well as a children’s seasonal book, Must Be Christmas. As a member of the Art Group of the Comox Valley (AGCV), Marlet now works in acrylics and mixed media. She has had success in showing and selling her work at Pearl Ellis Gallery, the Red Art Exhibit at the Muir Gallery, AGCV shows and sales, and to private collectors.
